Tie Guan Yin - Qing Xiang 清香铁观音
Tie Guan Yin - Qing Xiang 清香铁观音
Qing Xiang Tie Guan Yin (Fresh, Green-Style) from Anxi, Fujian is a bright, floral oolong celebrated for its refreshing “fresh fragrance.” Lightly oxidized and gently roasted at low temperatures, this style preserves the natural orchid aroma and silky, creamy sweetness of the Hongxin Waiwei Tao cultivar, the same tea tree variety that is also used to craft our Charcoal Roasted Tie Guan Yin (Nong Xiang) 炭培铁观音.
Grown at 700 meters in Anxi’s misty mountains, the leaves produce a vibrant cup with notes of orchid, lilac, tender greens, and pear-like sweetness. Smooth, uplifting, and beautifully aromatic, this tea is perfect for drinkers who enjoy a lighter, floral oolong. Best brewed gongfu cha to fully appreciate its layered fragrance.

Chinese name: Qing Xiang Tie Guan Yin 清香铁观音
History & Tradition
Tie Guan Yin, the legendary “Iron Goddess of Mercy,” hails from the misty mountains of Anxi, Fujian. While the traditional style was roasted, the modern Qing Xiang (Green‑Fresh) style focuses on bright, floral aromas and a crisp, refreshing cup.
Qing Xiang means “fresh fragrance.” Unlike the stronger roasted Nong Xiang style, Qing Xiang Tie Guan Yin undergoes lighter oxidation during the Yao Qing (leaf‑shaking) stage and a gentle low‑temperature roast, preserving its natural green freshness, vibrant florals, and subtle vegetal notes. It’s perfect for drinkers who enjoy a lighter, more delicate tea.
Qing Xiang Tie Guan Yin itself comes in three types: Zheng Wei (orthodox flavor), Xiao Qing (greens softened/eliminated), and Tuo Suan (slightly acidic, enhanced by delayed Shaqing). Our Qing Xiang Tie Guan Yin is Xiao Qing, delivering a smooth, floral, and well‑rounded experience without any grassy sharpness.
Cultivar & Origin
Tie Guan Yin is made from the authentic Hongxin Waiwei Tao cultivar, known for its thick, aromatic leaves and naturally sweet floral character. Grown at 300–800 meters on Anxi’s misty slopes, the mineral‑rich soil, cool air, and gentle sunlight produce vibrant, aromatic leaves. Qing Xiang processing ensures the tea remains crisp, fragrant, and balanced, perfectly suited for the Xiao Qing style.
