YIN CHA X Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026

YIN CHA brewing chinese tea at amsterdam fashion week

YIN CHA × ARCATYPE at Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026

This September, we’re very happy to see YIN CHA become part of Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026, joining ARCATYPE’s A Space For Time in the heart of Amsterdam.

Together with ARCATYPE, we created the Tea Journey inside the exhibition, bringing artisan Chinese tea into a space surrounded by fashion, objects, materials and the work of many inspiring designers and makers.

It is a setting we have really enjoyed seeing YIN CHA in.

When tea meets fashion and design

At first, Chinese tea and fashion might seem like two very different worlds. But spending time at Space For Time, the connection feels surprisingly natural.

A designer thinks about material, origin, texture, technique and the hands involved in making an object. We think about tea in much the same way.

Where was the leaf grown? When was it harvested? Who made it? How was it processed? How does the craftsmanship change what we eventually experience in the cup?

A beautiful piece of clothing or an object becomes more meaningful when you understand how and by whom it was made. We believe the same is true for tea.

This shared appreciation for craft, character and care is what makes it so interesting for us to present YIN CHA in the context of Amsterdam Fashion Week.

The Tea Bar

Together with ARCATYPE, we wanted the tea bar to feel like part of the exhibition rather than simply a place serving drinks.

The teas, brewing vessels and objects around them were brought together as part of one experience. And then there is the tea itself.

Leaves are picked in season and transformed by skilled tea makers through withering, rolling, roasting, scenting, oxidation or ageing. Small decisions made by the maker can completely change the aroma, texture and character of the final tea.

There is something we find beautiful about placing this kind of craftsmanship alongside fashion and design.

A Space For Time

The name of the exhibition also feels particularly fitting for tea.

Chinese tea asks for time: time to make it, time to brew it and a little time to actually sit and experience it.

匠心制茶,与之养心。

This idea has always been close to YIN CHA: craftsmanship in making tea, and a moment of calm in drinking it.

During the energy of Amsterdam Fashion Week, our tea bar creates a small place to pause, taste and experience another form of craft.

We’re very happy to be sharing the space with so many creative designers and makers, and we hope you’ll come and experience it before it ends.
